New Direction

This past weekend, I was fortunate to be part of Event Camp Vancouver 2011. I was inspired by several of the speakers as well as event professionals that I met through the conference. Because of that, I’ve decided to take a new direction with my blog.

Since I’ve been back in Vancouver, my main focus has been to obtain a position with an established and successful events production company. I really wanted to be immersed in event planning and learn from event professionals who’ve been doing this for years. However, I quickly learned that this industry is extremely competitive and has high barriers to entry. The key is timing and who you know. Since timing is something I can’t control, I’ve been doing everything I can to meet and network with experienced event professionals. That brings me back to this blog… I’m going to start chronicling my journey in the events industry. I’ll start with posting experiences/conversations I’ve had and people and companies I’ve met so far. If you’re also trying to break into the business, you might find this useful and I invite you to share your journey as well. I know everything I learned so far has only made me more determined to be successful.

Again, thanks for being patient with the changes. As you can tell, I’ve moved from Blogger to WordPress with the hopes that this platform can offer more custom options. I’m still playing around with the design so please bear with me.

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me. I love feedback.

Cheers,

Priscilla

Re-Vamp

I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted and to be completely honest, I’ve sort of lost the itch to do so. I’ve also been struggling with what to post. This blog was originally created to keep those at home updated with my various travels but for the near future, I will be grounded in beautiful Vancouver (not a bad thing at all)… which bears the question, what now? Well, I will be experimenting with content, design and widgets in an effort to make blogging a part of my life again so bear with me.

GAME 7!!!

This is going to be a quick one but I just want to send all my love and good luck and happy thoughts to the Vancouver Canucks tomorrow. I will be at Rogers Arena to cheer my boys on to win the Stanley Cup! It’s time to bring it home!

Here are some photos from the past week or so…

Absence really does make the heart grow fonder. I’ll upload a more detailed post soon since I’m still battling jet lag but just wanted to say that I love being home!

Home, Twitter, Canucks

A few things…

  1. I’ll be home May 4th! Leaving the beautiful island of Bali on the 30th and visiting Hong Kong for a few days. Will be nice to see my family and eat yummy (!) Chinese food. Including the best*** xio long bao I have ever had in my life. I’m sad to leave the life that I built here but I excited to be home and see my family, friends and Halo.
  2. I’m looking for a job so if you know of any openings, please let me know!
  3. I finally joined twitter. You can follow me @itspchan
  4. My beloved Canucks are awesome! Go Canucks Go!!!
